Kentucky based Bulleit Whiskey is a brand with a great story behind its recipe. At some point in the mid-1800s, Augustus Bulleit was transporting his bourbon in barrels to New Orleans when he vanished, never to be seen again.

150 years later, Augustus' great-great-grandson Thomas E. Bulleit Junior decided to revive the bourbon recipe that had been so important to his family for so many years. Its high rye content gives the Bulleit Bourbon a spicy and bold character which is unique to the brand, with added smoky flavours from the American oak barrels it is aged in.

Their various whiskeys differ in rye content, ageing time and blend, and each has its own complex flavour notes. If you are a whiskey lover or even a novice, you are guaranteed to love Bulleit.

Tasting Notes

Rich and spicy on the nose, with warming notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. Followed up with hints of dried apricot, grape and almond, too. Good spicy kick of rye on the palate followed up by the softer notes of dried fruit and sweet spice. Offering both a toasty and nutty taste softened out with enough fruitiness. Rounded off with a well-balanced mix of warming rye and sweet spice.
