Dry Gin

Gin has become particularly popular over the past few years, now one of the most popular choices of spirits for many. Gin is distilled (or redistilled) with botanicals, most noticeably juniper, for an intentional flavour. Gin is one of the broadest categories of spirits, all of various origins, styles, and flavour profiles, that revolve around juniper as a common ingredient.

Gin is most commonly mixed with tonic water as the bitter quinine in the tonic brings out the botanical flavours of the gin. Historically this is what Gin was drunk with, but now it is a popular choice for cocktails due to its dry, refreshing taste. Not too sugary, mixed with sweet fruit juices it creates a well-balanced flavour rather than anything too overwhelmingly sickly.

Gin has always been a key cocktail ingredient since the birth of mixed drinks. There are so many great gin-based cocktails, including the Vesper, Bees Knees, French 75, and of course, the Martini. Beginning as one of the most popular spirits 200 years ago, Gin has now regained its place as one of the most popular spirits on the market, alongside of Vodka and Whisky.

We stock Gin, Bathtub Gin, London Dry Gin, and Old Tom Gin.
