Established in 1875, the Tenzan Sake Brewery is located in the northwest of the Japanese island Kyushu. The brewery has been run by five generations of the Schichida family, who at first used the water from Mount Tenzan to power a water mill where they made rice flour and noodles. Moving to the alcohol business, the family turned their focus onto sourcing great quality rice from which they brewed some great quality sake.
Here we have their Tenzan Yuzushu Sake Liqueur, a creamy yellow liqueur made from the Japanese Yuzu citrus fruit which gives it a bright and refreshing flavour. Its aroma is that of tangerine, grapefruit with a herbal edge of lime leaf and earth, whilst its flavour has notes of citrus peel.
This is an extremely refreshing twist on traditional Japanese sake. Grab your bottle from Spirit Store now and enjoy hot or cold.
