Vilarnau Cava is the first winery in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia (Penedès) and one of only 14 in Spain to be awarded the certificate for Wineries for Climate Protection (WfCP). (July 2018) The wineries commitment to sustainable development in the vineyard and winery, along with their fight against climate change has been recognised by the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV), Spain’s leading wine association of wine producers. The implementation of a series of sustainable measures at Vilarnau have been key in obtaining the Wineries for Climate Protection certificate, especially the results achieved in mapping and reducing the winery’s carbon footprint. This certification reflects, in a concrete and measurable way, the winery’s performance in sustainable development.
