Rosé Wine is known for its unique millennial pink hue, created through a production process known as maceration. Flavours frequently found in rose wine include red fruits, flowers, citrus, and melon. Rosé is versatile and comes in both dry and sweet variations, so you can enjoy whichever you prefer. With so many different flavour profiles out there, you are sure to find a Rosé that you enjoy.
Maceration is the process where red grapes are juiced and left to soak ith their skins for a day or two until the juice turns a subtle pink colour. Once this is done, the grape skins are removed while the juice is left to ferment. The deepness in colour depends on how long the skins are left to macerate which is why they range from pale blush to bright pink.
Rosé resembles the flavour profile of light red wine, but with brighter and crisper tasting notes. It is very popular amongst many wine fans and is a particularly refreshing choice for the summer months. Served chilled, it can be drunk alone or with an accompanying meal. Sweet rosé pairs well with: Barbecue meats, Roasts and Rich sauces. Dry rosé pairs well with: Grilled chicken or fish, Vegetables, and Salads.
